Topic: Actions of interregional cooperation among regional institutions, supported by clusters and research agencies, for the creation of synergic policies to empower the Circular Economy in Europe

Project website: http://www.screen-lab.eu

SCREEN – Synergic Circular Economy across European Regions – aims at the definition of a replicable systemic approach towards a transition to Circular Economy in EU regions within the context of the Smart Specialization Strategy, through the identification and implementation of operational synergies between R&I investments from H2020 and the European Structural and Investment Funds, thus contributing to novel future eco-innovative and horizontal business models across different value chains.

The action will therefore develop a EU reference framework for:

  • Sustaining the regional stakeholders involved in Circular Economy activities in line with the Smart Specialization of each region
  • Connecting the above-mentioned actors in a trans regional operational framework
  • Maximizing the H2020 impact by supporting “circular” entrepreneurial initiatives based on the exploitation of H2020 projects’ results

To reach this objective, an analysis will be executed about the actual state of circular value chains in the Regions participating to the project. This will focus on a very broad overview of the circular economy, from both the point of view of enabling technologies (for example, recycling technologies, reuse, remanufacturing, design for disassembly, maintenance), and of legal and business constraints. On the top of that, within the different workshops foresees during the project, will be explored initial possibilities for industrial interregional synergies, and how to exploit them along with Regional policies.
